I have always loved painting and drawing. For me, art is a passion, as essential to my being as breathing. I have to paint! I feel that my life experiences, emotions and view of the world are reflected in my art. Each painting is a personal expression and statement as well as a window to my inner self.
When I took a class in 2007 with Joyce Werwie Perry at Sweetwater Art Center, I discovered palette knife painting and learned the unique approach Joyce developed. Attracted by the richness, creativity and spontaneity, I now work almost exclusively in oils with a palette knife. I’ve continued with Joyce and now take classes at her studio, which provides more opportunity for individual instruction and attention.
I’ve exhibited my artwork at Sweetwater, the North Hills Art Center, The Butler Art Center, Monroeville Artist League and other local venues including churches and coffee shops and have won numerous awards for my paintings.
