Vintage 1970s store Upcycled White Cotton Blend Lace 2 piece wedding gown BOHO country Skirt Top Fringes Separates Long Sleeves
For over 30 years I custom made wedding gowns. I enjoyed it, but eventually needed to take a break from that endeavor. I've always loved wedding gowns and missed playing with all the beautiful fabrics and store trims. Thankfully I've found a new passion: upcycling/redesigning vintage gowns.
Here is one of my newest, vintage recreations. This fun, lace beauty started life as a 1970s Emma Domb creation. It featured a high neck, long sleeves, empire waist and a gathered skirt. I felt that with a bit of creativity, it would suit today's bride, especially those who love a bohemian style or hope to find something unique.
This two piece bridal outfit would be perfect for a beach, destination, country, or backyard wedding. Although I retained the classic, long sleeves, I cut both front and back necklines to reflect the popularity of plunging necklines, covered with sheer netting.
I added some fringed trim to the bodice and a sheer ruffle at the empire waistline. The skirt has a dropped waistline to subtly expose the midriff.
The skirt waist measures 30 inches and is meant to rest on the upper hips. From waist to hem, it measures 36 inches. The bodice waistline is 30 inches and the bust is 35 inches.
Your guests will adore this fringed, hippie-inspired beauty!
