A 6” float painted with the Scottish fishing vessel “Virtuous”. Each float is hand painted in my studio on the Isle of Skye, inspired by my island surroundings and my husbands weekly edition of the fishing news these floats make unique gifts. Finished with a high quality varnish they can hang inside or out.
The floats are found on the coasts around my island home, cleaned and painted with scenes inspired by my surroundings. The ever changing light, weather, seasons, boats passing are a never ending gift of ideas. The floats are then coated with a very good varnish and can be hung in the home or garden. The rope, although it looks like a natural fibre is a manmade one and lasts outside quite top and bottom the rope is spliced into eyes on the top of the float, and has a monkeys fist spliced onto the bottom eye. . All the round floats have a compass on the top to finish.
