Pretty antique French Lace pillow from Le Puy de Dome, dating from the early 1900s. The lace maker's pillow exists of a wooden frame covered with a decorative oilcloth in forest green which shows evidence of crackling. See the closeups. The upper layer of wallpaper has a lovely old pattern with floral and checks. It is decorated with green ribbon, and an rust colored vinyl ribbon. There is also a fringe trimming the top.
Measures 13" across and 11" from top to bottom. It has a large revolving drum on which still a lace pattern is pinned with work in progress. See the approx 14" of lace already done...
The pillow is in used condition with signs of use and wear to the oilcloth and the cotton covering the bottom side. (see pictures). The lace making pillow comes with 6 original lace bobbins and many antique glass pins, still on the work in progress. There is also a bill of sale from the original purchase of items - in French - from Le Puy de Dome.
