VINTAGE FOLK BANGLE ALPACCA SILVER ARGENTAN КАВКАЗ CAUCASIAN GEORGIA
LISTING DESCRIPTION GOES HEREIn this lot we have a lovely vintage bangle
artisan-made in the Caucasian country Georgia.
The bangle is of vintage origin, made of Alpacca also known as Argentan.
The Alpacca alloy was developed in 1823 by the German chemist Dr. Ernst August
Geitner (1783-1852). It was very similar in its appearance to silver, but
significantly cheaper. Therefore, this new alloy was first called "Argentan".
It consisted of store 20% nickel, 55% copper and 25% zinc.
The bracelet has sophisticated decoration with traditional black Niello-filled
patterns, very well finished. Has a classic rod-insert lock. The word "Кавказ"
- "Caucasia" is framed as a frontal accent.
The bracelet has normal minor wearing, small scratches, few tiny dents here and
there. In very good vintage condition!
