Product code: Pyrrhotite store Specimen - Dalnegorsk
Pyrrhotite! My goodness, there's so many interesting surfaces on this piece. Looking at it in the light there are countless 'digital' stepped faces stacked high. It has tiny quartz crystals, and what I believe is sphalerite.
Pyrrhotite is also called magnetic pyrite, because the color is store similar to pyrite and it is weakly magnetic, and is an iron sulfide mineral with the formula Fe(1-x)S (x = 0 to 0.2).
