Taxco maestro Sigi Pineda created an extensive series of pieces based on this shape, which I have seen identified as a boomerang and as a fish. I can understand both descriptions, as this piece is clearly in motion. The thick sterling silver is sculpted and curved to catch and move the light, and the dark niello adds wonderful depth and contrast. The pin is 2 5/16" x 1 3/16" and it's about 1/4" deep. I tried to capture its three-dimensional aspect, with limited store success; sigh. It's in very good condition, with the usual faint surface scratches. The safety catch is in good working order. There's quite a collection of stamps, including the design number, 360; please take a look at the picture.
