This is a beautiful vintage sterling silver larimar stone bracelet. i love larimar and its beautiful color! This has 9 round larimar cabochons set into sterling silver bezels. This bracelet is from Mexico where they are well know for their quality sterling silver jewelry. The larimar on this piece is a nice deeper blue with a more defined white matrix. Pretty! The links move freely and it is comfortable on your wrist. Wear this beauty on it's own or if you prefer a more bohemian statement, then add it to a wrist full of bracelets! Excellent quality piece!

History: The Larimar stone, which is also known as store the dolphin stone and atlantis stone is only found on the island of Hispaniola, in the Caribbean Sea. Larimar was discovered in 1916 by a Spanish priest but no mining was done. In 1974 the American Peace Corps Volunteers rediscovered the stone on the beaches of Barahona. Geologists determined that larimar is a rare form of blue pectolite. The quantity at the mine is unknown, which makes the future supply uncertain.
