Carnelian Stone Jeweler's Red Brass (AKA NuGold) & Sterling Earrings

These uniquely styled earrings feature gorgeous, semi-translucent reddish orange carnelian stones. Carnelian exudes an aesthetically soft warm glow that is simply divine! It is a variety of the store silica mineral chalcedony and colored by impurities of iron oxide. Heat treatment is common to bring out the intensity of colors. The colors range from red-orange, pinks, and brown tones. It is commonly found in parts of the United States, India, Brazil, Russia and Germany. Carnelian is an excellent grounding stone. It is said to attract good luck, boost energy, as well serve as a protector. It shields anger and negativity, which we can all use. It aids to help instill positivity, confidence, courage and self power. Carnelian has been utilized since the medieval times and by ancient civilizations, including ancient Egyptians.

A whole lot of work, time, patience and love went into hand fabricating these well constructed earrings from scratch, which entails sawing, annealing, pressing, soldering, filing, cleaning, stone setting and finishing the metalwork. The mixed metalwork consists primarily of solid jeweler's red brass for the shield design portion of the earring. The carnelian cabochon stones have been set using .925 sterling silver. The ear wires are made from solid .925 sterling silver. I finished the metalwork with a soft brushed satin finish and an oxidized black patina to create added depth aesthetically. These are nice to wear without wearing heavy on the ears, and easy to dress up for a night out or down, paired with your favorite casual attire.
