store Hi, my name is Sharon Fitzpatrick Perry and I have been hooking primitive style wall hangings, trivets, chair pads, floor mats, ornaments, proddy pins, etc. for over 25 years. As you can imagine, I have a pretty good stock on hand so I decided to open this etsy shop so I can share many of my finished products. I buy the wool by the yard, wash it, dry it, dye it and cut it into 1/4" strips to create my hooked pieces making them one of a kind designs.
This Scottie Dog mat is hooked with 1/4" (#8) wool fabric strips on rug hooking linen. The dog is hooked with antique black and the background with mixed textured grays. For a finishing touch I added a couple of rows of mixed mauve and lavenders striped wool. It is finished on the underside with rug binding tape. In this piece I used many different plaids as well as dyed and over dyed wool. It measures 7" by 9 1/2" and would make a lovely wall hanging, small pillow, or furniture accent. These hooked mats make great trivets and add a lovely pop of color to your counter and table tops. All of my rugs come from a smoke free environment and signed by me on the underside binding.
