store The Gray Ghost Organ Pipe cactus (Stenocereus Pruinosus) in this listing is very healthy, very large and well rooted. Also going by the common names of Pitayo and Pitayo de Octubre, these plants are native to Mexico and can reach a height of 20 feet. They will typically branch from the base and produce small red fruit as they mature. These would be a striking addition to a sunroom, patio or deck.
The cactus being offered stands 20-3/4 inches above the soil and is approximately 3 inches in diameter (not counting the spines). The photos show multiple sides of the exact plant growing in a 3 gallon pot. Pot and soil will not be shipped with the plant.
These cacti are very drought tolerant, but will grow very quickly if watered regularly and placed in full sunlight during summer months. They should only be watered once every 4 to 6 weeks once temperatures fall below 70 degrees. Although they will survive frost and brief freezing temperatures, the exposure will scar the plants. Standard cactus potting soil and a container that drains very well are essential.
Shipping to any address within the contiguous United States, with the exception of those in California, is included in the listing prices. WE CANNOT SHIP THIS CACTUS TO LOCATIONS WITHIN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. Please contact us prior to purchase if shipping to Hawaii or Alaska as additional shipping fees will apply. International shipping not available. Federal Express Home Delivery or USPS Ground will be used to transport the cactus.
