This unusual figural brooch is in the shape of an exotic bird, with a marcasite (pyrite) pave body and a bright red crystal eye. It is made and signed by Weiss (lack of copyright symbol dates this pin to the 1940s). The metal content is unknown, likely a silver and/or bronze alloy.
It measures store approx 2.5" x 1.25" and has a dark patina all over, no missing stones or obvious wear. Really quite stunning!
