Here's an elegant finger ring compact dating from about 1930. The metal is appears to be brass or brass plated and there's an ornate "grill" attached to the lid (it's a separate piece). The lid is set with 4 small store and 1 large opaque, bright red glass cabochons. Inside is a powder well with a lid that opens to re-fill the well with loose powder; there's a rotating cover through which to shake a little powder to use on your puff. The bottom of the piece has a pattern of tiny diamonds and straight lines. The compact is 2" in diameter; the chain is 4-1/4" long (5-3/8" with the ring). It's in very good condition with no dents or rust, a few very tiny dark spots, and minimal signs of wear, consistent with age and normal use.
