This lithograph is from "American Wild Flowers in their Native Haunts" by Emma C. Embury. "Wild Columbine" was drawn and hand colored by Edwin Whitefield and shows the natural landscape / environment of the plant, "Matanga Falls, Pennsylvania". American Wildflowers was printed in 1845 by D Appleton and Co, New York. The lithographs were printed by Lewis & Brown, New York, who were one of the first to produce chromolithographic illustrations for publications. Measurers 9.5" x 7 "and signed E. Whitefield. Please view all photos as they show overall condition. Original tissue still attached to page. Considering the age of the print, it's in lovely vintage condition.
