You can add/remove roms as you see fit, but it is ready to go without any work on your end. Just plug and play. This also has an amazing feature that will allow games that require the Expansion Pak to run, you will just need the Expansion Pak installed in your N64 to store be able to play them though. This is region free, you can play this on any N64 console. There is a switch on the top; "N" is NTSC format (USA and Japan consoles), and "P" is PAL (European consoles).
