Vintage Beautiful Crissy store in Open Box by IDEAL 1969

Vintage Ideal Beautiful Crissy with hair that grows and grows. She comes in her Original Box with Original Dress and Shoes. Crissy was created by the Ideal Toy Corporation's Prototype Department in 1968. She has Auburn Hair, Dark Brown Eyes, and stands 18'Tall. She was released for public sale in 1969 after the New York Toy Fair. She was manufactured from 1969-1974 with several variations along the way. The first Crissy's of 1969 had hair that "grew" to her toes. Later that same year, the company changed her hair to grow to hip length. The other dolls within the Crissy Family followed suit. The early Crissy's also appear to have no pupils in their dark brown eyes. The Ideal Crissy Family of Dolls with "hair that grows" have a base of hair rooted to their head and a separate, thicker lock of hair that emerges from an opening in the top of their heads. The hair is made longer by pressing the button on their tummy and gently pulling the strand straight up to the desired length. The hair is made shorter by pressing the button on their tummy and turning the knob on their back clockwise. She is a beautiful doll and functions as she should. This Crissy is from the later part of 1969 with hip length hair and no pupil eyes. I lengthened and shortened her hair within a couple inches of the length it is now, however I did not try to go beyond that. Her hair is soft and shiny and in overall great condition. I have also noticed that on their left ears especially, there is a faint dark red/pink staining. I included a photo. I am not sure, but I believe it could be from their hair. She is in wonderful overall condition, hard to believe she is 53 yrs old! Her sleepy eyes open and close and her limbs move freely. She would make a great addition to a collection or an amazing gift! Displays beautifully!
