This listing is for a pair of finials. They are decorated clam shell lamp finials made on Cape Cod from hand-picked shells, gathered on the beach. No two shells are exactly alike.
The process: they are made from paper overlaid on the shells (decoupage) which is then decorated with gold foil paint. The backs of the shells are painted with a gold wash. There are many coats of gloss added to make these finials quite sturdy. The bases are made store of polished brass.
They measure approximately 2.75” from the top of the shell to the bottom of the finial hardware, and 2” across at the widest part of the shell. The photograph shows the two finials available for sale. The color is a true blue on white with gold trim.
