Rachel store Carson

This store is Rachel Carson, the author of several books including "Silent Spring" which brought the public's attention to the dangers of pesticides, particularly DDT. She was an early environmentalist who wrote about the human impact on the world around us. This bust is one in the "Great American Women" series which honors women of great distinction and vision from our past.
