Rust Yellow Iris store Floral Watercolor Painting, Iris Flower Wall Art | Original Watercolor Painting on Textured Paper

This is a small original floral watercolor painting on vintage textured wallpaper. It's based on photos I took in April and May at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and Clark Botanic Garden in Mineral Wells, Texas. I chose to zoom into the heart of this gorgeous rust red and golden yellow bearded iris in order to fully explore the variation of color and texture.

This small collection of botanical and floral art is painted on sturdy vintage wallpaper. You will be able to see glimpses of the small floral repeat of the wallpaper (see images) and that's "on purpose" ;-)

I used a combination of watercolor, acrylic paints, chalk, and color pencil on each painting, and finished with a couple of layers of clear archival varnish in a satin finish, which adds a store slight sheen.

Each painting includes raw edges of approximately 1/4" all around which is visible in the listed images and included in the listed dimensions. These raw edges can easily be covered by matting during the framing process.

As a watercolor on paper, the materials used are fragile and if not handled with great care, can be damaged or torn!
