We purchased this scale as a reference piece for a similar scale that store we were restoring. Now that our personal piece is finished, we are offering this one for sale. This scale measures grains up to 525. It most likely would have been used for apothecary work. The beam is plated nickel and overall in good condition. The best part about this scale is that it still has original paint. Two lines in the traditional Fairbanks colors of red and yellow circle the bottom of the scale. This scale could be left the way it is and appreciated for its originality, or stripped down and restored to its former glory. Either way, we know you'll love it!
We have included a photo of the scale in our personal collection that this sale scale was used as reference for. The restored scale is not for sale.
Please note that as a vintage item, this piece is prone to having scuffs, faded paint, or scars, but here at ExceptionalObsoletes, that is what we love best about these pieces. We do not consider them defects, but rather marks of character and we are sure they would have a beautiful story to tell if only they could speak.
