Baby alpaca shawl, shawlette, hand knitted, hand store spun, hand dyed with natural dye.

This very special shawl is hand knit, hand spun and hand dyed (with madder root) by myself.

It began as a raw white baby alpaca fleece that I washed, picked, drum carded and then spun on my wheel into a 2 ply yarn.
I then dyed the yarn with madder root, which came out this very earthy red/orange colour.

It is a triangular shawl, knit with a cable pattern. It is not a large shawl, more suitable for a small to medium adult, held together with a pin.
It is incredibly soft to touch, and feels warm and cosy, like an alpaca hug!

Dimensions are 1.25m at its widest, and 60cm at its longest.

Wash gently in cool to warm water. Use a gentle soap, roll in a towel to squeeze out excess water. Lay flat to dry. store
