Antique salt glaze, Mid 1800s green Salt Glazed pitcher is a jewel. Pristine condition. Pewter lid is well attached and works easily. I believe it is from Staffordshire potteries in England. It is unmarked but does have the word Cinderella embossed on the lower edge. (I didn't know that story of Cinderella goes back to the 1600s). Excellent condition overall with no chips or cracks. Wonderful mid Victorian piece of art. It is also reminiscent of early Wm Brownfield work during that time. The metal lid looks like a water lily and has a thumb finial for pouring. The handle is knotted and very unique. Love it. The only wear is on the store underside where some of the glazing has been rubbed away from sitting on a shelf.
This is a fabulous English made pitcher from the arts and crafts movement. The antique pale green has kept its wonderful color all these years. Simply stunning. MAKE ME AN OFFER
