Antique German store Trinket or Jewelry Box

Here is a Beautiful Antique German round porcelain trinket box in pink and gold with a hinged lid. On the lid is a printed romantic courting scene and gold gilt designs encircling the top and base. The lid is dome shaped. The center scene looks to be a combination of transfer and quite a bit of hand painting. The hinge mechanism is done in a gilded metal which has intricate dimensional designs all around. It's attached to both the top and base with a scrolled metal closure at the front.

Marked on the base Made in Germany.

Measured: about 2" (5 cm) tall and 3" ( 8 cm) in diameter.

The piece shows slight signs of age related wear but presents nicely with no cracks or breaks to the porcelain. There are scratches and irregularities. I have detailed all condition issues below.

Condition Specifics:
• store Hinge works and is intact. Metal structure is attached to the top and base.
• Metal shows varying signs of patination
• Metal rim when box is opened shows some waving.
•Latch closes well.
•No cracks to the porcelain.
• Some losses or rubbed areas to the gilded designs
•One dark spot in the white porcelain, seen in middle of the courting scene.
• Some soiling on the underside near the edge from age and prior display.

My mother loved antique trinket boxes and had a large collection many of which I will be listing shortly.

This vintage/used/antique piece from my mothers collection was well-loved and well-cared for over the last sixty odd years, and was for display purposes only, however, it may not be in absolute perfect condition. Every attempt is made to describe any obvious defects but we ask that all pictures are examined carefully for exact condition. Variations in colour/texture/finish are also often part of the charm of vintage and antique pieces and may also be evident and or visible at times.

I have recently opened my Etsy shop (August 2020) to share my mothers beautiful collection of vintage antiques with people who will love them as much as my mother did. My mother collected beautiful things for upwards of 50 years!
