Alastor or, The Spirit of Solitude was first published in 1816. It is considered to be one of the first of Shelley's major poems. The poem initially received negative reviews due to its obscurity. store However, there were positive reviews written for Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine and The Examiner. Condition Report: In original paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Age toning and rubbing to the paper covered boards and spine. A few small marks to the rear board. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are bright with scattered spots to the first and last few pages. Overall: Very Good Indeed
