Product code: Cuvier's Beaked Whale in Rescued Hardwood #6 store
Believed to be widespread and quite numerous, Cuvier's beaked whale is shy of boats and people and is rarely seen. Variations in color and pattern are huge. It's a hard whale to identify.
My version of this worthy cetacean is carved from recycled hardwood, stained, painted, and protected with several coats of clear acrylic. Mounted on a poplar base, he is initialed and dated by the artist. He measures about 9-1/2" long by 7-1/2" high and 3" wide.
His interesting coloration and unique scars make for an unusual piece. Given his anti-social attitude, this may be your best shot at glimpsing this marine mammal. store
