This exquisite, antique 1800's bonnet is in amazing condition & comes with a handwritten note saying it belonged to Emily Millice & comes from near Mechanicsburg, Ohio. It has a buckram frame, a wide shallow body & is black taffeta with large ruched loops around the narrow brim. Creamy white silk is pleated & frilled around the face. There are 2 long matching black ties. The inside is lined with fine, black store, polished cotton. There is a tiny pinpoint hole on the back of the bonnet & 2 tiny chalky spots on the back as well. This can be carefully worn or displayed.
Fits most as the buckram is flexible.
