Bio
“Romulus Craft is about relationships. Relationships between two distinct individuals from two different cultures, between nature and time, between control and spontaneous reaction." — Ikuzi Teraki and Jeanne Bisson, Romulus Craft

Ikuzi Teraki and Jeanne Bisson established Romulus Craft in the late 70s in Oakland, California. Since 1986, they have been located in Washington, Vermont. Ikuzi does all of the wheel thrown work including trimming and carving. Jeanne creates all hand-built, pinched, and slab-built work.

Ikuzi Teraki grew up in Kyoto, Japan. His family painted kimonos. Growing up, he developed an eye for beauty, proportion, and an appreciation for everyday work. He apprenticed for 5 store years with Master Tezuka before becoming a master artist. He emigrated to Canada before finally making the U.S. his home.

Jeanne Bisson grew up in Barre, Vermont. Growing up on a dairy farm, she learned the responsibility of working as a team, but also learned how to enjoy everyday work. She developed a strong connection to nature and to the land she lived on
