Soft pale green tones with white and hints of lavender flow around this natural jade bi disc pendant. The natural precious gemstone is Type A jadeite, which means it has NOT been dyed or treated. The donut-shaped 1 9/16-inch jade stone has a 4.7mm diameter hole at its center. It is nicely polished with rounded edges and a silky smooth feeling. The stone varies store in soft muted colors. There are natural variations to the tones and translucency of the stone. The earliest "bi" were produced in the Neolithic period and were most often flat discs circular in shape with holes at their center. They are often associated with heaven and earth.
To wear as a pendant, a doubled-up cord loop could be threaded through and then the ends pulled through the loop and tied. A jeweler could also add a gold or silver bail/band to the disc. This piece could make a comforting and unique worry stone. This pendant is in excellent recently carved condition. Please check out below for detailed measurements.

Each vintage piece has been examined by a graduate gemologist. Stone carat weights stated represent approximate weights which can vary by the limitations of measuring set gems. Due to the age, antique & vintage jewelry and sterling objects are often not perfect, and may have normal signs of surface wear, or small imperfections due to hand crafting or production in a long gone era rather than mass-manufactured nature. This is what makes each piece special and unique!
