Here comes 1960s Steiff hand puppet Punch whose official name is “Happy”. Since Punch lost all Steiff IDs, and the name tag is gone, this is not apparent anymore, but one could draw the conclusion by the happy smile the old puppet has on its synthetic head.
Punch played a bit in his time, you see that one pompom is reduced to a small bobble, the bell from the tip of the felt cap is lost as well. From the Steiff button and yellow store label there remains only a tiny hole (see photo). Apart from this the old Punch is fine, the head has a plastic sheath for the puppet players finger, and the red and yellow felt glove is ok, as are the white felt hands and the fool's collar.
You may notice that Steiff decided to give Punch and the hand puppet princess (also listed in our store) the same face!
Steiff hand puppet Punch measures 17 cm / 6 ¾ inches – glove only (fits to every average sized adult hand) and 25 cm / 10 inches to the top of the head.
Punch hand puppet comes without the stand that is to be seen in the photographs!
