Cotton Barkcloth, RARE Vintage NEW Stock, Mod store Abstract Stripe, BY1, 3 Yards Available, 1960s Unused Supply
NEW/NEVER USED - VINTAGE
MINT CONDITION
3YDS AVAILABLE
Sold by the yard, this is a smashing, vibrant, 1 yd, 45" wide, unused cotton barkcloth which was made in the 1960's and stored. It is in perfect, mint condition. The white background is perfectly white, not faded or yellowed at all. Due to the store dust of hanging around a half century, I have washed and ironed the entire yardage. It is pristine clean, the colors are fully saturated and it has been pre-shrunk for you! There is no manufacturer's information in the selvage.
The print is a railroaded 3 1/2" stripe in three colors sage/gold, yellow/gold and orange/gold, which is interrupted by an abstract crescent design which is 9" x 12". The design repeats in a half step. It is punctuated with black and floats on a stunnngly, crisp, white background. This mod print is full of 1960s hippie, psychedelic, charm.
Originally used for making curtains and drapes, you can use this fantastic vintage fabric for many other things as well. It would make up into pillows, cover lamp shades, totes or bags, vintage hats, aprons and of course, amazing period drapes.
