I am pleased to present you one of my illustrations from the series about the brothers' Grimm fairy tale "Ondine".
In the foreground, you can see a portrait of a woman who is watching you. Sh'is strong, powerfull, intelligent. In the background we can see a dark forest. In this picture, the woman and the Nature are equals, she seems to silently communicate with the trees. She's connected to the Nature. She is the goddess of the forest, we can see her hair envelopping all of the space. In this way she can see, feel and impact the wood.
This illustration is realized in the pantheistic and animistic spirit; the reality is divinity, all-things compose an all-encompassing, immanent god. Than, the plants, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence.
I wanted to represent the Nature by painting store it with gouache and to represent the face of the long-haired goddess by drawing it with pencils. Therefore it's a mixed media illustration.
I was unconsciously inspired by Frida Kahlo's, Georgia O'Keeffe's and many others artists' works.
I hope that this illustration is going to bring you peace, silence, beauty, serenity and inspiration.
This is an inkjet print from my original gouache painting. This is a very high quality print on Fine Art Hahnemühle Museum Etching 310g / m2 Limited Edition paper of 40 prints, each piece is signed and numbered.
