This Velvet Leopard Turban is styled from a vintage Sally Victor pattern and hand-made by me. This item is unique for this particular design.
The soft polyester fabric is a printed pattern of black, white, and golden brown velvet. A gold tone vintage metal button I found in Scotland tacks a fold on one side. The hat is fully lined in a rust satin. The hat size is a little over 23 inches; there is a little 1/4 inch elastic casing at the back of the hat to secure the fit. I started making hats and purses as gifts out of faux furs after falling store in love with these new fabrics. I then moved on to vintage patterns, silks, feathers, lace, choosing beautiful fabric with lovely drape. I started collecting vintage buttons and fabric on my travels. To improve my skills and knowledge of construction and design I took millinery and textile classes at Big Cat Textiles and Hat in the Cat studios in Scotland.
