This is an amazing piece. Probably 1850's Mexican sad iron. I looked everywhere for another one with no luck. Knob is what looks like the bust of a conquistador and the cast iron handle has a G on store it. Very well made with obvious handle wear and oxidized cast iron. Wood handle has a little play in it. I believe the previous owner used this as a planter but it's also used as a door stop. These sad irons are very collectible!!
