ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Yuri Nikolaevich Dudov. Born February 23, 1918, in Moscow. In 1936 he graduated from high school. From childhood, the future artist was surrounded by an atmosphere of beauty - his parents were close to art. “Conversations about art, disputes, discussions of theatrical premieres and opening days could not but leave a mark on my imagination. I did not think of the future outside of art”, - recalled Dudov already in adulthood. According to the recollections of a friend of his youth, the artist Seleznev, at the time of graduation, Yuri had a choice in which direction to receive further education - music or art. As a result, painting took over. He received his special education at the Moscow Art and Pedagogical School in memory of 1905 and at the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov.
Yuri Nikolaevich Dudov is a student of the great Russian painting masters I.E. Grabar, S.V. Gerasimova, A.V. Lentulova, V.N. Baksheeva, V.K. Byalynitsky-Birulya, P.I. Petrovichev, bearers of the traditions of the Union of Russian Artists. From his mentors, he took over the baton of the Russian realistic school: broad, free thinking, a sense of the truth of life and, at the same time, a poetic perception of the world around him.
The artist's legacy includes several hundred paintings. These are, first of all, lyrical landscapes of the Moscow region, the Russian North, Siberia, the Urals, Central Asia, the Crimea, the Caucasus, which they love so much. The painter paid special attention to the urban landscape, the theme of Old Russian architecture. A whole cycle of works is dedicated to the native Zamoskvorechye. A large place in Dudov's work is occupied by sketches, very sincere, written as if in one breath.
Since 1947, he has been a permanent participant in Moscow, republican and all-Union exhibitions. Member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1953. Honoured Artist of Russia. He was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labour". He died on April 29, 1976.
Currently, many of Dudov's works are in domestic and foreign museums, in private collections in Russia and Western Europe.

Please be advised that the painting will be sent on first Saturday after the order is placed, please also note that it usually takes 10-14 days for shipments to USA and Australia, 7-10 days to Europe and 3-5 days to UK.
Import duties and taxes are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer´s responsibility. Please check with your country´s customs office to determinate what these additional costs will be prior to buying.
