Beautiful antique tie tack & original backing. Depicts Hotei, also known as the laughing Buddha. Hotei is the god of happiness, one of the seven lucky immortals. Great condition. Hand painted brown clothing & eyebrows, red lips, gold fan with red accents.

Just about 1" (2.5 cm) tall by the same wide. Marked 'Japan' along with an Asian character hallmark. The backing & chain are heavily tarnished, but should clean up fine. Weight - 5.9 g / .21 oz.

Toshikane was a Japanese company from Arita, Japan that fabricated porcelain buttons, jewelry, & other ceramic pieces that date back to the 1940's & are very collectible.
