store A pair of glass ink bottles which hold a red 'Nu-Lite' inkwells. The bottles are made from molded glass, which is stamped with 'made in England' on the bottom. The Nu-Lite inkwell sits inside the glass bottle, which has a wide, flat bottom to prevent any spillages. Nu-Lite is slightly more modern then Bakelite and one step closer to modern plastics; it has the brittle feel of Bakelite still but doesn't have the distinctive chemical smell. These vintage ink bottles are perfect for a calligrapher or anyone who likes to write with a dip pen.
These inkwells date from before the Second War World and do have a little wear, there are a couple of rough edges to the glass where it has been slightly chipped, and the red Nu-Lite is faded around the rim of the ink-well, nevertheless they are in good condition and will look great on your writing desk.
Each ink bottle measures approximately 6 x 4 cm.
