BELEEK Pigs Pair of 2 - 1st Green Mark Vintage 1946 to 1955 - Ireland Collectible Figurines Reg No 857 - Mint Condition from DecadencePast.

Two plump and happy little Beleek pigs from Ireland. This pair has been perfectly happy to be sitting together smiling from a shelf in an enclosed china hutch for decades; so they're in mint condition.

In researching Beleek marks, these both match the first green Beleek mark (no registered or copyright symbols) dating them to the 1946 to 1955 era - most others you can find these days are from later.

Both are the feather light "eggshell' store porcelain this Irish maker is famous for. While both have the palest of yellow luster inside their ears, the faint yellow on the backs of the ears is only very slightly more pronounced than the other. Both have very content matching expressions and curly tails on their fat little bums.

I love their little cloven feet!
