Nice Meaders Pottery Pitcher
About 8" tall.
Signed on the bottom "Welchel Meaders Mossy Creek Pottery" and undated.
Whelchel Meaders is a member of the famous White County Meaders Pottery store Clan. If I am not mistaken the last potter from the generation that gave us famous folk potter Lanier Meaders (his cousin). He has reportedly retired from turning and will not likely be making any more of these. Excellent and well respected folk potter.
Pitcher is in excellent condition. Please see photos for best details.
Excellent gift for any southern pottery collector, especially collectors of face jugs, as he and his family are renowned face jug artists, but these utilitarian wares are not nearly so expensive. Especially great gift if they have other Meaders pieces but lack a Whelchel.
Careful packing and fully insured shipping are included.
