I read that Steve Albini addressed the reasoning behind calling one of his bands, from the eighties, Rapeman. Amidst the complexity of this phenomena, one's able to glimpse just how the narrative of history has been store whitewashed for the benefit of a single element of the species. Albini's acknowledgement indicates that the tide is turning; a good thing for the balance of the environment to which we all are, equally, beholden. This shot's a play on the title of a less provocative release from Shellac; another band of Albini's. Their '94 debut was named after what was considered the most dangerous theme park in the US. It's a great record. I recommend the Song of the Minerals.
