This half round covered jar is 6" wide, 6" deep and 4" high (6" to top of lid handle). It is a slab built piece. The outside has an overall impressed pattern, with a center panel of woven squares. The side panels have a vertical pattern of lines. The overall front and back texture is washed with a dark red ceramic stain which is wiped back from the high places. The end pieces are washed with a brown-red stain. The inside and top are glazed with a gloss amber crackle glaze that is accented store with an India ink stain in the cracks. This piece is high fired stoneware. It is one of a kind, although I make this shape and pigment/glaze combination often. A great accent piece.
