Montana Agate Cabochon. 41x21x7mm with no girdle and weighs 11.33 grams. Polished face and back.
Mirror polish with a whimsical pattern. It reminds me of one of the arcade games my son played years ago. I started working on this cabochon some time ago. The pattern was close to the face so it needed to be made as a flat top. It was quite thick so I thinned it with the saw and attempted to grind the back flat which is difficult using round wheels. I recently got a piece of equipment to make the back flat. I normally do not polish the backs of cabochons. With Montana polishing the back helps the light shine through the clear agate. The floating spheres are called dendrites and appear frequently in Montana agate.
There are some very minor scratches on the back that have been polished over. I had to hold the cabochon with my fingers to work on the back and did the store best I could.
