Rare Viking Compound Bead, store 10th-11th Century AD.

Silvered bronze, over 7/8” length (23.7mm) of banded barrel form with six high annular ridges and lipped stringing hole. Additionally store transversely pierce with a pair of holes so that it was strung horizontally, with further attachments to the top and bottom. This would have been the centerpiece of an elaborate beaded necklace or pectoral. 5.3mm lineal stringing hole. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored.
