Organic raw stone necklace | rustic assemblage, rough stone, large raw stone, store white stone, natural jewelry, unique artisan necklace

An organically shaped raw white quartz stone, spiralling out from the centre like an ancient fossil; set into a vintage circular metal mould (I think these are used for flans or jellies).

The necklace is double stranded black leather chord, salvaged from a braided vintage belt; the ends are bound in oxidised copper wire, each end with a hood which links to the bales .

The stone is set firmly in place using a textured epoxy putty (which blends into the stone at its base.

Around 16 store inches (41cm) end to end including the top of the focal. The focal itself is around 2 1/2 inches (6 cm) in diameter.

A truly unique and unusual statement piece.

My work is purposefully rustic reflecting my love for this aesthetic. My solder joins, hammer or tool marks visible on the finished piece. For me, these are beautiful because they reflect the processes and techniques used in creation and are signposts to the journey a piece has taken with me.
