Vintage Queen Elizabeth store II Coronation 1953 June 2nd Royal Commemorative Wade Bone China Cup & Saucer Duo – Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense Dieu

A vintage Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Commemorative Porcelain Cup and Saucer by Wade England. The Royal Souvenir cup and saucer duo celebrates Her Majesty the Queen's the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2nd June 1953.

The Wade English Royal Souvenir cup is interesting as it features a sepia portrait of the Queen in a store yellow roundel with her Royal crown above. The charming image is surrounded by green oak leaves and acorns together with colourful Royal Heraldic United Kingdom images - Tudor Rose, Scottish Thistle, Irish Shamrock and Welsh Daffodil.

The cup is unusual in that around the image it says in a blue banner “Honi soit qui mal y pense ” and below the image the banner says “Dieu et Mon Droit”, which is the monarch's motto.

The saucer has the crown motif with “Coronation of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, 2nd June 1953”. Both are decorated with metallic gold trim.

Both are clearly marked on the base with a green stamp saying “Wade England”. There are other marks which could be decorators marks.

Rare set and difficult to find in this fabulous condition. No one else will have a Royal Coronation souvenir cup and saucer like this - over 70 years old and in fabulous condition. China of this age often has crazing, but this set does not.

The cup is approx. 7 cm (2 7/8 in) high, with a rim diameter of 8 cm (3 1/8 in). The saucer diameter is 14 cm (5 ½ in). The set weighs 240 g (8.4 oz).

The Queen Elizabeth Coronation Wade Commemorative cup and saucer set is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The metallic gold is in excellent condition with no visible wear. Has been well looked after and is a pre loved item. Please view photos.
