Quartersawn Spalted Sycamore Turning Blanks (Knife Scales, Pistol grips) // (2) 8 x store 2-5/16 x 1-15/16

Here's a pair of highly figured, spalted and quartersawn sycamore turning blanks. These would make great pistol grips, kitchenware store handles, fishing rod handles, knife scales, etc. I think I've covered all angles with the pictures and video, but they're highly figured with some great looking faces.

About Walnut Lumber:

Grain/Texture:
Sycamore has a fine and even texture that is very similar to maple. The grain is interlocked.

Workability:
Overall, Sycamore works easily with both hand and machine tools, though the interlocked grain can be troublesome in surfacing and machining operations at times. Sycamore turns, glues, and finishes well. Responds poorly to steam bending.
