store This beautiful sterling silver necklace and earring set features micro-faceted round pink Peruvian opal beads and faceted aqua chalcedony briolettes. The necklace is finished with one of my handcrafted hook and eye clasps and the earrings dangle from handcrafted ear wires. One of a kind set.

WHAT IS GOLD-FILLED?

14K gold-filled is a professional jewellers grade wire. The difference between gold-filled and gold plated is the amount of gold used over the brass core. Gold-filled items must contain 5% or 1/20 of gold by weight. Plated items usually contain a microscopic amount of gold, which means the gold layer can peel or flake very easily exposing the brass core underneath. Gold-filled on the other hand contains 100x more gold and so will not peel or flake and is tarnish-resistant. A fabulous economical alternative to solid gold jewellery.
