Product code: Odobenocetops In Rescued Hardwood store #5
store Odobenocetops was an ancestor of the narwhal that lived in the Pliocene era. It evolved a sort of walrus-face to facilitate it's bottom feeding habits. It sported sizeable tusks, and in one species, one was much longer than the other.
My version of this happy clam digger was carved from hardwood, stained, painted, and coated with clear acrylic spray. It measures about 9-1/2" long and 7" high by 4" wide. Mounted on a poplar base, it is dated and initialed by myself.
Odobenocetops was a wonderful and unique-looking organism and a happy reminder that not all extinctions were caused by the activities of man.
