19th Century Bennington Pitcher with Embossed Peacock store and Floral Motif with Rockingham Glaze & Matching Primitive Drip Plate
Hi there.
This listing is for a 19th century Bennington Pitcher with an Embossed Peacock and Floral motif with a Rockingham glaze, and a matching primitive drip plate. There isn't a makers mark on the pitcher, just character and rustic charm for days.
The pitcher stands at 8 1/4" tall and 6" in diameter at the weighty base. The only flaws are glorious production produced inconsistencies - only adding it its massive amount of primitive charm.
The drip plate, which I cannot confirm actually accompanies this pitcher - yet is matches perfectly - is stamped 169 on the base and is an antique yellow ware piece with a Rockingham glaze made in the early 1900s. There are a few small chips on the rim, as to be expected with most pieces of this age (pictured). Measuring in at 9" in diameter and 2 1/4" deep.
