Sign is made from REAL hardwood using the woods natural color. This particular sign in the images is made from mahogany however it can be personalized and made from any hardwood desired and stained to a specific color if if the wood chosen has a light color such as Oak.
FEATURES:
The sign presents a brilliant Super high crystal clear gloss. There are 2 counter sunk holes for wall mounting. The rectangular design can be changed up to have 45degree cut edges or other various angles is desired. The letters are made by engraving and then filling with epoxy tinted with black charcoal powder which gives it a very deep color since its made from a carbon based color. The sign is then planed to be flat and will have a thickness from around 0.5inches to 0.75inches depending on how cupped the boarded was before planing. After planing its sanded to 360 grit and then covered in a UV and scratch resistant acrylic epoxy resin.
TIMING:
Because this is hand made, start to finish it takes roughly a week b/c of cure times of the epoxy after letter engraving. If someone wishes to not use an epoxy finish and goes with a paint for the letters and a sealer on the wood it is highly recommended that the wood used is a good weather-resistant wood which will be well supported for outdoor use.
Processing time is dependent on whether or not the item is personalized therefore times could be shorter.
