Rare store Vintage WWII Photograph of the Launching of the S.S. Joseph Smith Ship. This 11" x 13" black and white photograph, dated May 22, 1943, is of the launching of the World War II US Naval Ship which named for the American religious leader and founder of Mormonism and the Latter Day Saint movement. The print at the bottom lists the location as Richmond Shipyard Number Two of the Permanente Metals Corporation in Richmond, CA and is Photograph No. 2L-6. The photo is in average condition, bent corners, a noticeable crease, it curls inward etc - please click to enlarge all 10 photographs for a closer inspection of condition etc.
